JOHN HENRY TWACHTMAN OIL ON CANVAS laid down on wood panel. (Gloucester, Mass. 1853-1902) Titled "Spirit of Winter", a winter landscape with nearly frozen stream and wind-swept bare trees. Signed J.H. Twachtman l.r. 18 in. by 12 in. In 19th century carved gilt wood frame with title plaque l.c. Provenance: by descent in the Bend, Oregon family.
Condition report763: Overall good condition; canvas laid down on panel- sides of canvas trimmed; slight losses along lower edges; not relined.
