Good York Co., Pennsylvania Tramp Art Child's Desk, two part crate wood with top having rectangular and diamond crest, two glass doors with applied round corner blocks and porcelain pulls and one shelf, bottom with seat well and left side with six various size drawers, right side with four drawers, all drawers with sunken panels with molded edges and one porcelain pulls, sides with recessed panel and applied diamond center and doors with metal latches which open to one shelf back full length compartment. Entire case with incised diamond cross hatching and painted yellow ochre with red diagonal highlights, made from crates with various labels on interior of drawers including "High Explosive Cartridges, Matches" and "Department of Agriculture" paper label, etc., purchased in York, Pa., 62" h. x 38" w. x 25-1/2" d., accompanied with late 19th century, spindle back chair, (refreshed paint on work surface).
