Depicting a surgeon performing surgery on a man next to a seated man who is reading and is painted on octagonal shaped wood panel mounted in a giltwood frame, unsigned, panel measures "11.875"H x "11.875"W, frame measures "17.5"H x 17"W. The left corner of the frame is chipped and there are cracks on the other corners as well, the painting is dirty and could use a cleaning. From the private collection of Dr. Herbert Olivecrona, who handed out the nobel peace prize for 12 years, honored for his work and dedication in the field of brain surgery.
