Early 20th C. Inwood Pottery Vase w/Nantucket

Hand painted and signed by Tony Sarg, who was born in Guatemala in 1880. In 1921, he moved his family to Nantucket, where his art took off and he opened the Tony Sarg shop. In his later years he did many animated window displays for Macy's Department Store. Well known for his boxes depitcting Nantucket scenes. Mr. Sarg passed on in 1942. The vase depicts a colonial couple with horse and cart, vase measures 8-3/4" H x 5" D, signed underneath. Various glaze flaws along bottom edge, some crazing to the glaze, no other damage found.
