LACY ACANTHUS LEAF AND SHIELD SUGAR BOWL WITH COVER, fiery opalescent, octagonal bowl with complex serrated rim and raised on a circular 25-scallop foot, cover with flori-form finial and patterns pressed on both the interior and exterior. Factory ground under base to level. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co . 1835-1850. 5 1/2" high overall, 5 1/4" diameter rim overall, 2 3/4" diameter foot .

Well above average for this rim having only one interior chip and one tipped point, foot with one chip causing the loss of one scallop, cover with a 3/4" x 2 1/2" E-shape annealing crack at the rim edge which does break the surface but does not affect the lid's resonance, otherwise only light under-rim flaking
