SCHOENHUT TEDDY'S ADVENTURES IN AFRICA BOXED SET - An extremely rare offering, box lid paper label numbered set 20/84, a Schoenhut representative toy featuring Teddy Roosevelt w/animals & native guides, and full lithographed jungle graphics to complete the imagery of the safari hunt. This boxed set includes: Teddy Roosevelt w/rifle, hat, cartridge belt & helmet, photographer w/cartridge belt & rifle, no camera, young guide w/rifle, cartridge belt & helmet, African w/large drum, African w/jug & bowl, box marked ''T.R. MOMBASA HFR.,'' and folding table, no canvas, set includes both original lithographed scenery boards, once sold w/figures sewn into board, and also features two large folding scenery boards together w/long paper scenery board which really makes a striking visual to this extraordinary set. Figures are in (Pristine Cond.) for age, minor stain to guides jacket, scenery boards are (Exc. Cond.), holes on smaller boards are from original attachment of figures when sold, all animals are glass eyed, and include: rhino, lion, rare hyena, zebu, elephant, elephant w/blanket and donkey. Stringing on figures are loose, but overall condition is the best we have seen for these rare examples. Animals 6''-9''l, box 30'' x 18'', figures 8''h, background boards 57 1/2'' x 17'' each.
