Daniel Carroll (1730-1795) Statesman. Carroll was elected to the Continental Congress from Maryland and signed the Articles of Confederation. He attended the Constitutional Convention and signed the Constitution. His farm land is the present site of the city of Washington. His cousin, Charles was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. 7 12" x 12" partially printed document signed "Dan. Carroll," Montgomery County, Maryland, July 2, 1787. The document is a loan agreement. "... I, Daniel Carroll of Montgomery County in the state of Maryland, am held firmly bound unto Thomas Barnwell Hollingsworth of Baltimore Town ... in the full and just sum of two hundred & ninety six pounds sixteen shillings Spence, Maryland currency...."
