Mother and Child Automaton

France, late 19th century, Mother has wax over paper mache head with blue glass eyes, open mouth with teeth, black hair, composition hands and feet. Mother is seated, holding a small child with parian type shoulder head with molded blonde hair, and wearing a christening gown. On a velvet covered base containing musical clockwork mechanism. When operated, the Mothers head turns right, left, up and down, and arm rocks the child. 12" H. Very Good - Excellent
