France, ca. 1885, a wonderful pair of sister Jumeau dolls with bisque socket heads marked with artist checks, the larger has blue paperweight eyes and an open mouth, the smaller has brown paperweight eyes and a closed mouth, both have finely painted brows and lashes, pierced ears with original Jumeau earrings, original brown mohair wigs with cork pates, fully jointed composition bodies with Bon Marche labels. Wearing matching original couture pink silk dresses and matching pink velvet bonnets, original matching Jumeau brown leather shoes and socks, together with a trunk containing two wool black and white dresses with matching hats and two silk slips.
