France, ca. 1890, a wonderful fur covered monkey with papier mache face, ears, hands and feet, glass eyes with original articulated leather covered eye lids and jointed lower jaw and articulated upper lip. When brass clockwork mechanism is wound he blinks eyes, slightly moves head up and down, raises cigarette holder to mouth, inhales lit cigarette, lowers cigarette and exhales. Brass clockwork mechanism is concealed in body and includes bellows and plumbing to create realistic smoking affect when a lit cigarette is placed in holder. 15" H. Excellent (on/off pull lever is stuck in the on position)
