On June 8, 1959 the first U.S. official 'Missile Mail' was launched off the USS Barbero. This is a proof with mute cds used for publicity purposes. Official printed cachet in black at left, two line handstamp: 'SAMPLE COPY FOR REPRODUCTION PURPOSES ONLY' in black on reverse. Very fine.
