Dark blue wool 'baseball' style cap with U.S.S. Wasp silver on blue patch sewn to cap above a silver Lt. Colonel's insignia. Yellow braid sewn to bill of cap. This is the cap given to Col. Aldrin by the ship's crew after recovery. Certificate indicates lining is missing from cap. Originally sold from the Buzz Aldrin collection in Superior's Fall 1998 Auction. Very fine condition considering age of this item. (1998 Buzz Aldrin Letter of Authenticity)
