Charles Hajdamach brought this crown plate to the Oct. 2005 convention of the VASELINE GLASS COLLECTORS, INC gathering at Pittsburgh. He authenticated it to 1838 and is the earliest known example of vaseline / uranium glass having been made in England. This was made for some Royal function, as the Crown insignia is etched in the bottom of the plate. This is cut flint glass at it's finest! Do not pass on the opportunity to buy a piece of uranium glass that is 170 years old and dates back to the infancy of when uranium glass was first made for the elite!cut glass, glows, crown mark on baseFROM THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF CHARLES HAJDAMACH- -BELIEVED THE EARLIEST EXAMPLE OF URANIUM / VASELINE GLASS C 1840'S Personal collection of Charles Hajdamach, author of BRITISH GLASS 1800-1914, copyright 1991 -- part of a collection of art glass to be sold live on eBayLiveAuctions on Oct 5th at 1pm, Andy & Rob Collection.
