This English Victorian Epergne has been given to us represented as a Thomas Webb "opal sunrise" style of glass. In all of our travels, we have never actually seen a piece of "opal sunrise", and have never seen a hand blown Victorian Stourbridge epergne with multiple horns & baskets perched on anything other than a 9" to 10" hand blown matching base. This particular piece reminds us of a marriage, BUT, we do not purport to know all the answers. This diminutive Vaseline footed base has a prominent Opalescent ring that was one of the signatures of Stuart & Sons Ltd. in the latter Victorian era. Furthermore, the apparent stylized pincered Fleur-de-lis feet are also more reminiscent of Stuart and Boulton Mills. However, as we are always willing to learn, so we will let our informed public help us qualify this hand blown English lot. Definitive information would be greatly appreciated.
