This is a tall and unique English three tiered Cranberry Opalescent epergne most likely from the Edwardian period ca. 1905 - 1920. The style is that of Pairpoint Mfg. but the base is in spelter, and not Pairpoint silver plate. The bowls evidence a dimpling reminiscent of Boston & Sandwich, but the total form is definitely English. At almost 25" tall it qualifies as a "surtout" the French word describing that piece which is higher than any other item on a table. This is not an epergne to be missed!! Baciato Dal Sole: The Turtle Point Cranberry & Vaseline Villa / by John & Candice Scherz; English Cameo Glass, Art Glass Nouveau, and Carved & Decorated European Art Glass / by Ray & Lee Grover; British Glass 1800-1914 / by Charles R.
