VICTORIAN JOHN WALSH WALSH CASED HB JIP VASELINE

Sign In to see what this sold for

This is the first of a pair of gorgeous English Victorian pink to imperial yellow Jack in The Pulpit vases. Though originally attributed to Mt. Washington, we would submit that Mt. Washington never offered such a crowned ogee profile foot, and in our experience, never with the English 18 projecting rib design. Careful examination of the base and stem remind one of visual effect of a Tiffany Flori form or pastel vase, but this English form with an almost unmistakable yellow hue, leads us to the door of John Walsh Walsh ca. 1890 - 1895. Both of these tall vases emit a warm glow under black light. British Glass 1800-1914 / by Charles R. Hajdamach; Victorian Decorative Glass British Designs, 1850-1914 / by Mervyn Gulliver; Decorative Victorian Glass / by Cyril Manley -- part of a collection of art glass to be sold live on eBayLiveAuctions on Oct 5th at 1pm, Andy & Rob Collection.
