COLOSASAL WILHELM SCHILLER SONS MAJOLICA CENTER B
Description
This spectacular 17 1/2" X 12 " oval Majolica bowl was finished by Wilhelm Schiller & Sons ca. 1848. Schiller & Sons was founded in Bodenbach, Bohemia in 1829, and produced excellent quality earthenware & porcelain until 1895, with its hallmark being spectacular boldly modeled Majolica pieces. This bowl certainly qualifies with its dynamic florals and its adult rams horned satyrs, that rivals anything done by Wedgwood or Mintons in the Victorian era.
