This late Victorian vaseline opalescent conical vase is by John Walsh Walsh ca. 1897 - 1902. It is called Opaline Brocade, and is well known in the vaseline world. Unfortunately, the vase had problems, as the inverse teardrop pattern always finishes in a base pointed opalescent dagger, and the top of the pattern finishes in a curved closing of the pattern with a floral crown atop each teardrop. This pattern has been abbreviated, but is still a pretty piece of vaseline. British Glass 1800-1914 / by Charles R.
