This pattern was originally called Pattern #775, and is more commonly referred to as PRESSED DIAMOND. It was made by Central Glass Co., Wheeling, WV and first mention of this pattern was in trade papers on Jan. 1, 1885. This pattern was made in clear, blue, amber and canary (vaseline). A rare 'apple green' (that also glows under a blacklight) is known in a couple of shapes (shaker, open salt). This is an extensive pattern of close to 50 pieces. Please see our other auction lots for additional pieces in this pattern. This lot is for the covered butter with flanged rim. There is minor roughness on the undersides of the rim. No breaks or cracks noted.
