Sign In to see what this sold for

"BACCHUS" black opaque creamer rare - c 1880, from the personal collection of Frank Chiarenza, author of "The Milk Glass Book" Chiarenza was contacted in an attempt to identify the maker, and he strongly believes them to be made by an English company, but by one of the lesser known houses that was a Sowerby competitor. The possibility also exists that these are undocumented Sowerby. Chiarenza stated in his correspondense that the turquoise version is much more difficult to find than that black version.SEE AUCTION LOT #7467 for a turquoise milk glass version.CONDITION: minor nicks on the factory-ground bottom surface ring. -- part of a collection of art glass to be sold live on eBayLiveAuctions on Oct 5th at 1pm, Andy & Rob Collection.
