VICTORIAN BURTLES, BOULTON CRANBERRY VASELINE MAR

Sign In to see what this sold for

This is a beautiful English Victorian Cranberry vaseline marmalade dish by either Boulton & Mills or Burtles, Tate & Co. ca. 1885 - 1890. The non-vaseline or opalescent crystal threading rules out either Stevens & Williams or Thomas Webb, and the very tight diamond optic pincered trail pattern, was known to be used by both Boulton & Burtles. The applied rim and trail glow nicely under black light. All it needs is the EPNS period frame, as it is another example of the traditional English marmalade size & shape.Baciato Dal Sole: The Turtle Point Cranberry & Vaseline Villa / by John & Candice Scherz; British Glass 1800-1914 / by Charles R.
