Page 4 features the Republican Nominations for national and state elections, headed by Abraham Lincoln for President and Hannibal Hamlin for Vice President. Among the several political editorials, there is a discussion of a "well-ripened conspiracy to throw the election of next President into Congress" and postulates that backers of other candidates "have no idea of beating Lincoln elsewhere than in Congress..."
