Autographed Photo Albums showing New York Giants

Believed to have been taken during Spring Training in 1951, these two albums contain unique vintage Polaroid* snapshots of the NY Giants players as they posed one by one for the camera. The Polaroid photos were then each signed by the respective players. The albums have remained in the family of Lamar Puett since Mr. Puett personally put together the albums more than half a century ago. (*The Polaroid process of instant photographic prints had only just been developed a few years earlier in the late 1940's.)This terrific collection includes individually autographed photographs of the following players: Willie Mays, Bobby Thompson, Wes Westrum, Monte Irvin, Dave Koslo, Whitey Lockman, Don Mueller, Sal Maglio, Fred Fitzsimmons, Max Lanier, Larry Jansen, Alvin Dark, Rafael (Ray) Noble, Dave Williams, Leo Durocher (manager), Frank Shellenbacker (pitching coach), Hank Thompson, Chuck During, Gail Henley, Al Corwin, Jim Hearn, George Spencer, Sal Yvars, Sheldon Jones, Bill Rigney, Hoyt Wilhelm, Monte Kennedy, George Bamberger, Steve Shewak (bat boy) and an unnamed umpire. The Collection also contains several poorly exposed shots along with a image of an African American photographer who presumably took these wonderful pictures.Each album measures 5 3/8" x 4 3/8" with Polaroid snapshots measuring 4 1/4" x 3 1/4". They are in excellent condition.
