Condition/Details: Bound in green cloth with gilt embossing, this antique volume is a scarce work of fiction that originated as a lecture given by this Baptist minister-orator. The 58 page speech is supplemented in this book by a biographical account of the man ("His Life and Achievements" by Robert Shackleton) who would become the founder and first president of Temple University in Philadelphia. The biographical portion is illustrated with many photographs. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. Author's signature is on front endpaper. The book measures approximately 5.25" x 7.75" and contains 169 pages plus several unnumbered pages containing an "autobiographical note". Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
