Condition/Details: Bound in one-quarter cloth with decorative oblong boards, this antique volume is a scarce resource intended for use in primary school. The designs provided in this book are meant to be cut out and mounted, with the ultimate purpose of teaching children "habits of accuracy, neatness and industry", thus providing "valuable training to the hands and a mastery over tool and material that is useful in later work." The first half of the book is made up of a set of pictorial nature scenes, each accompanied by poem, that depict each month of the school year. This initial segment is designed to allow the "nature settings" to furnish the primary teacher with "splendid material for language and nature". The volume is complete and unused. This book is in remarkable condition, solidly bound with clean, bright pages. The book measures approximately 15.25" x 7.5" and contains 31 unnumbered pages.
