This lot includes the group of Eddie Ruhl's personal papers shown in the corresponding image, featuring telegrams, letters, antique photos, scrapbooks, passport and quantity of stock certificates. The items in this lot are part of the estate of Eddie Ruhl, celebrated tenor opera star. Eddie Ruhl performed as an operatic tenor with a professional career that spanned from the 1940's through the 1960's. Mr. Ruhl lived in the Washington, D.C. - Baltimore area before retiring to Florida. He performed internationally and was generous with wartime benefit performances in Europe. He served a term in the military during the 1950's. His recordings include: My Fair Lady (1964), The King and I (1964), Oklahoma! (1950's), South Pacific (1964). He continued to perform in smaller productions into the 1970's and upon official retirement, offered professional vocal instruction to emerging artists.
