Notes: Bound in burgundy cloth with paste-ons and golden spine titles, this antique set is the "standard library edition" (published circa 1883-1896) of Hawthorne's works -- a collaboration between George Parsons Lathrop and Julian Hawthorne, the author's only son, who wrote a biography of his parents that appears as vols. 14-15 of this edition. The work is illustrated with both frontispiece and in-text plates. The volumes show mild external age/wear, and are solidly bound with clean, lightly age toned pages. The books measure approximately 5.75" x 8.5". Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $20.50
