Frank Feather's Masterpiece-C. 1940-The prime example of a Feather's cane. The cane has brass inserts in the handle for eyelets and is carved with the words truth, faith, virtue, democracy in very high relief. Near the center of the cane is a very fine carving of an Indian Chief in full bonnet with the words "Chief" in high relief. It was carved for "L.M. Showalter, June 1940". Throughout the shaft there is a carving of an eagle holding an acorn, horse head and various other whimsy's, including one hidden face. Retaining its original patina and brass ferrule this world class cane is top of the line-O.L. 35 ½"-$10,000-$15,000
