Folk Masterpiece-C. 1850-A very well done carved, inked inscribed hardwood shaft with numerous clipper ships, dogs, snakes, fish, birds, vegetation, anchors, insects and geometric designs. The pair of boats inscribed in the shaft are fine sailing vessels with people aboard and the detail paid to each carving or inscription is that of a very naive artist. It has a pommel handle which is 2" x 2 ½" and an iron ferrule-O.L. 35"-$3,000-$4,000
