Approximately 3½x11¾".Titled by hand in ink on rear: "Inceville, A "movie town" (set up only) Along Pacific Ocean near Santa Monica, near Los Angeles, California. Camera was on Light tower. Photo by Ferd J. Zettler, Feb. 12th 1919". Inceville was a collection of movie sets constructed in the Santa Ynez Canyon by film pioneer Thomas Ince and was the filming location for hundreds of movies from the years 1912-1922. The photograph show a variety of building facades including thatched roof buildings, old west style storefronts, a castle, etc. The photographer, Ferd J. Zettler was a realtor and general building contractor in Los Angeles. His panoramic photographs of Exposition Park are in the collection of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
