1930's-40's University of Michigan Football Artifacts from the Dave Strong Estate. No serious fan of Wolverines football could fail to be intrigued by this offering from star halfback Dave Strong, whose personal collection was consigned to Heritage by his family. The collection begins with wonderful team photos of the 1938 and 1939 squads, each oversized image matted and housed in their original vintage frames to ultimate dimensions of 14x17" or more. Next we encounter autographed photos from an assortment of College Football Hall of Famers, personalized to Strong from coach Bob Zuppke (some damage to photo, but ink NRMT), coach Fritz Crisler (2, EX & NRMT), coach Biggie Munn (NRMT) and halfback Tom Harmon (2, EX & NRMT). Three unsigned portrait photos are here as well, each picturing Strong himself. All photos (unless otherwised mentioned) are EX or better, and measure approximately 8x10". Finally, we have a 1938 souvenir menu signed by by over thirty members of the Michigan team including Strong and Harmon, six Michigan game programs from 1938 and 1939, a couple early Rose Bowl programs (1951, 1979), a 1935 homecoming pinback and various other baubles.
