Chinese 'chicken's blood' stone seal, of square section with tapered top corners, the top with a bat and shou-character medallion, one side incised 'Tongzhi xinchou nian Zuo Zhong Tang yin' (=seal of Zuo Zhong-tang (1812-1885), [Marquess Kejing in the court of the Guangxu Emperor]), the deep red matrix with typical mushroom colored inclusions, together with a fitted hongumu wood box, 1.5''sq Provenance: Estate of Diana Engstrom, Northern California and Sweden.
