Chinese Manchu massive soapstone seal, date unknown, of rectangular section carved to the top with a mythical qilin, the front face with Chinese inscription 'Da Qing Si Tian Zi Bao', the back with two lines of Manchu, the base with both Chinese and Manchu script and bearing the legend possibly associated with Huang Taiji of the Jurchen Manchu empire (reigned 1626-1643), the polished stone of olive green tone, with a wooden stand, 4.25''h; Provenance: Estate of Diana Engstrom, Northern California and Sweden.
