Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut slant front desk, ca. 1770, the fall front enclosing a fitted interior with tombstone prospect door and document drawers with inscriptions detailing history descending in the Gross family, the case with four graduated drawers centered by fluted quarter columns, all resting on ogee bracket feet, 43 1/2'' h., 38 1/4'' w.
Condition reportHinges and lock replaced. Document drawers inscribed with descent in Gross family (Henry Gross 1828, Henry 1874, Jefferson B. 1888, Henry J.B. 1903, O Howert B. 1909, Leonard Jefferson 1911, Jane Linten Gross 9/11/72). Drawers rebuilt.
