The book is personally inscribed by Forster: "Mrs [Ella] Burra, with good wishes from E.M. Forster, and with thanks, and with remembrances." See the next lot, in which Forster refers to sending her this copy: "I don't know whether you have seen the enclosed. Please keep it if you would care to do so, as I have another (corrected) copy for Dents. They speak of July for publication.".
