***Joachim of Fiore, c.1135-1202, mystic, theologian and an esoterist. A group of followers know as Joachimites arose from his writings. Many of these believed that there was an Antichrist already in the world in the form of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. A great number of Joachim's theories were confuted by Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologica. Nevertheless, the Abbot was put in Paradise by Dante in his Divine Comedy..
