George Cruikshank- ''Relieving a Gentleman from a State of Coma'' and ''Family Jars''- watercolor and graphite on paper, signed in ink, one of the drawings is for ''George Cruikshank's Table Book'', edited by Gilbert Abbott A'Beckett, London, 1845. Another is for ''The Comic Almanack'' for 1839. This series of drawings appear on this octavo sheet, all but three illustrative of the gentle art of pulling noses. One of the sketches was reproduced as the woodcut headpiece on page 21 of the above work. It is titled: ''Relieving a Gentleman from a State of Coma''. One of the other drawings on this sheet is lableld ''Family Jars''. This comprises a group of three jars, all equipped with legs. There is a woodcut drawing of two jars. on page 47 of ''The Comic Almanack'' for 1839 which is also titled ''Family Jars'' but which is quite different in treatment. This latter illustration depicts two jars weeping and legless. Paper is age toned, some soiling and has been folded three times. 10 1/8 x 6 1/4''
