This is James Topham Brady in a CDV by Mathew Brady. J.T. Brady was a brilliant attorney, District Attorney of New York City. He was an innovator in the use of the defense of temporary insanity. As defense attorney he won 51 out of 52 murder trials. He also wrote literary pieces under the name "Query." There is a pinhole on the top of the mount, with light scratch beneath it.
