18" x 15" brown-toned gelatin silver print, 1954. Various international exhibition stamps on the verso, with list of prizes awarded, written in pen in his hand (these seem to have been written later.) The photograph is titled, dated and signed in pencil and again (also later) in pen on the verso. The Hong Kong photographer is a Fellow of the Photographic Society of America, the Royal Society of Arts in England, and an Honorary Member of the Photographic Societies of Singapore, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Belgium. He is also prize-winning filmmaker. This is a characteristic work with philosophical overtones. A dazzling photograph.
Since this was exhibited in many places, there are some signs of handling that weren't noticed at first. These include a few small cracks in the emulsion near the bottom. I've revised to condition code to [D4]. This is still a brilliant print, and the problems seem to be typical of Fan Ho's exhibited photographs
