7" x 9 ½" brown-tone gelatin silver print on heavy textured paper, with her "715 Lexington Avenue New York City" stamp on verso. She was only at this address in 1927, after which she moved to California. She has written her name in characteristic block letters on the print, over an erased earlier more conventional signature, and she has made a "c" in a circle at the lower left. The negative was made ca. 1908 [?]. Burroughs died in 1921. The great naturalist is shown in his rustic Adirondack cabin "Slabsides" in West Park, New York. A fine rich print.
