Son of Errol Flynn, Sean was an actor and adventurer. He became a freelance journalist in Vietnam, and started a Saigon news service with John Steinbeck's son. In 1970, with Dana Stone [See Lots 101 - 103], traveled by motor bike to the front lines in Cambodia. They were captured by the Viet Cong, and eventually died or were killed in the hands of the Khmer Rouge.

a) "A Viet Cong suspect is hung by his feet during interrogation here by Chinese mercenaries working with a US Special Forces unit. After 15 minutes in this position the suspect admitted he was the sniper who... had fired on refugees sheltered in a church." 4/26/66 The white slug credits Flynn.

b) "Da Nang… A bowl of rice & chopsticks has been placed at the head of buddhist dead in this photo by Sean Flynn, who was the only newsman to make it into the Tinh Hoi Pagoda. The buddhists were killed in fighting between government troops and rebels who were making stand in the pagoda, 1966." [Written in pen on the verso.]
