Condition/Details: Bound in olive green cloth with front board and spine pictorially stamped and lettered in gilt, black and blue, this antique volume is a scarce second state of the first edition of Twain's classic tale of time travel. The work is profusely illustrated by Dan Beard. The volume shows mild external age/wear. Both hinges are cracked with clean pages that show some water staining to edges of bottom half of first pages. There is scribbling in blue pencil to two blank pages. Last page, advertisements and flyleaf from back endpaper are now detached. The book measures approximately 7.25" x 8.5" and contains 575 pages plus two pages of advertisement. Please note that other Twain first editions are being offered in this catalogue.
