Condition/Details: Bound in tan cloth with bright black lettering and red decorative motifs, this volume is a scarce bilingual edition of the epic poem "Piedra de Sol" by the prolific Mexican poet, the recipient of the 1990 Nobel Prize in Literature "for impassioned writing with wide horizons, characterized by sensuous intelligence and humanistic integrity." "Piedra de Sol", originally written in 1957, alludes through its title and circular structure to the Aztec calendar. It was singled out in the Nobel Presentation speech as a "magnificent" example of the ability of the writer to encompass in his work a wide range of influences and themes. This book is numbered 67 of 250 copies bearing both the signature of the author and that of his primary translator into English, Eliot Weinberger. The volume has a protective plastic cover and slipcase, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 7" x 8.75" and contains 59 pages.
