Condition/Details: Bound in dark green cloth with bright gilt embossing to spine, this volume is a scarce copy of the author's Booker Prize-winning novel. Best known for her long collaboration with Merchant Ivory productions, Prawer Jhabvala is the author of several works on India, the country where she resided with her husband. Her work on India is characterized by the Oxford Companion to English Literature as mingling "affection and impatience with her adopted country". Paper strip with author's typed name and signature has been pasted to title page. The volume is in fine condition, and is solidly bound with clean, bright pages.
