Condition/Details: Bound in red cloth with bright black lettering, this volume is a scarce signed copy of this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that centers around the character of a young woman who aspires to climb the social ladder. The story is set in a middle-class family living in America at the turn of the 20th century. The work is illustrated by Arthur William Brown. This book appears in its original dustjacket with the color illustration of a street scene on the front cover. Dustjacket is in a glassine cover. The volume shows very light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 5.25" x 7.75" and contains 434 pages plus 6 pages of advertisements.
