Condition/Details: Bound in brown cloth with gilt embossing, this antique volume is a scarce signed and numbered (#150) first Canadian edition. Winner of the 1923 Pulitzer Prize, it tells the story of the life of Claude Wheeler, a native of Nebraska around the turn of the 20th century. The son of a successful mid-western farmer and an intensely pious mother, thus guaranteed a comfortable livelihood, Claude Wheeler nonetheless views himself as a victim both of his father's success and of his mother's excessive restraint. The volume is solidly bound with clean, bright pages, and appears in a protective plastic cover. The book measures approximately 5.5" x 7.5" and contains 459 pages.
