Condition/Details: Bound in maroon cloth with silver lettering; this is the first English translation of this title, originally published in France as "Balzac et la Petite Tailleuse Chinoise". This is the first novel by the Chinese movie director who was himself, "re-educated" in China during the Cultural Revolution between 1971 and 1974. The best-selling novel was critically acclaimed upon its introduction and was adapted by the author into a movie in 2005. The volume, wrapped in its glassine covered dustjacket, is bookstore new and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 8.75" x 5.5" and contains 172 pages.
