Condition/Details: Bound in purple cloth with bright gilt lettering to spine, this volume is a scarce copy of a collection of the stories that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1970. The author was best known for her short fiction, that often appeared in such literary magazines as "The New Yorker". Tipped-in inscription card reads "For Mary Ames, with good wishes, Jean Stafford." The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. It appears in its original dustjacket, in a glassine cover, with minor taping to the back cover of dustjacket.
