Condition/Details: Bound in quarter cloth with gray boards, this volume is a scarce signed copy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning work of the novelist and literary historian. This was the author's third novel, a depiction of a trek by wagon trail across the Oregon trail in 1846. The inscription on the title page reads: For Lura (sic) and Dan Mitchell, two westerners, with a westerner's sentiments. AB Gusthrie Jr. Pittsburgh, PA April 26, 1951." The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. Rare dustjacket is in glassine cover. The book measures approximately 6" x 8.75" and contains 340 pages.
