Condition/Details: Bound in beige cloth with bright black and blue embossing, this volume is a scarce signed copy of this novel by an author who specialized in historical fiction for young adults. This his most successful work offers a boy's view of the California Gold Rush of 1849. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction the year after its publication, and was made into a short-running television series. Author's signature is to be found on label pasted to the half-title page. The volume shows light external age/wear, with back hinge cracked. Pages are clean and bright. Dustjacket is in glassine cover. The book measures approximately 5.75" x 8.5" and contains 544 pages.
